The SPLASH is back!
Hurricane Dennis came ashore at about 2:30 PM on Sunday, July 10, 2005. The Navarre Beach area, about 25 miles east of Okaloosa Island, took the brunt of the storm's 100 to 120 mile per hour winds. This 'small' hurricane had destructive winds extending out only about 40 miles from it's center.

Much of the repair work from Hurricane Ivan had just recently been completed at Islander Beach Resort. The new beach walkover was erected in April 2005, and the reconstructed pool, hot tub and patio surround had just opened for guests in early June. While Dennis' destruction was probably half that of Ivan's, it put the pool area, walkover and onsite management office out of commission once again. Repairs are now largely complete.
And the Repairs Begin within days...
